Welcome Connecticut Community Members, Parents, and Teen Driver Safety Champions!

Car crashes are the number one killer of young people in America, and most of these crashes are 100% preventable based on the choices made inside the car. Impact Teen Drivers is proud to work with Connecticut communities to help curb this preventable health epidemic. Thanks to the generous sponsorship from NJM Insurance Group, Impact Teen Drivers is able to bring our evidence-based programming and resources directly to Connecticut teens and their influencers—at no cost. If you are a teacher, administrator, educator, first responder, parent, or just someone who wants to be part of the solution, please click here to schedule a program or training for your community!

We employ a multifaceted approach to ensure we are able to best serve you with evidence-based education. In addition to in-person and distance learning presentations, we offer engaging educational webinars and interactive education modules to accommodate teens and parents.

Programs available include What Do You Consider Lethal? and Are We Living in a Dream World?—both designed for teens—as well as Parent-Teen Workshops and a Train-the-Trainers that is designed for those who wish to learn how to facilitate our teen programming.

Congratulations Just Drive Contest Winners!

The Just Drive Contest is an exciting opportunity for young people to promote safe driving among their peers, parents, and in their community. These winning school groups created positive, solutions-based messaging in their innovative digital content and in-person outreach events. Please click on each image to learn about each group’s winning campaign and watch their video PSA. The Just Drive Contest is made possible by NJM Insurance Group.

First Place Winner

Wilton High School
(Wilton, CT)

Wilton High School’s creative campaign was aimed at parents with the message  “Be the Driver You Want Your Kid to Be” because parents are the #1 influencer of their teen’s driving behavior. These students crossed the finish line when they hosted a race to raise awareness about the dangers of reckless and distracted driving.

Second Place Winner

Simsbury High School
(Simsbury, CT)

Simsbury High School’s social media campaign was creative and well-done. Their PSA included a cameo from local law enforcement and ended with the important message of the four types of distractions (audio, cognitive, manual, and visual).

Third Place Winner

Foran High School
(Milford, CT)

Foran High School’s impactful campaign asked “Who Do You Drive Safe For?” Their highlight video included the sticky notes of those powerful answers encouraging all of us to think about our answer to the same question.
