Your Choice. Your Impact
Be the Change empowers young people to become Changemakers and move from awareness to action by equipping them with the skills, confidence, and support to lead safer choices in their schools and communities.

Grounded in evidence-based curricula and Positive Community Norming, the initiative helps students recognize their influence and use it to shape healthier, safer behaviors.

Through leadership development, peer engagement, and real-world application, Be the Change supports youth in addressing reckless and distracted driving as a shared responsibility. Participants learn how to speak up, organize meaningful activities, and model behaviors that protect themselves and others who share the roadway. The result is student-led action that builds momentum, strengthens community connections, and creates lasting change beyond a single event or campaign.

Why This Program Works

Be the Change creates student changemakers equipped to lead, model, and reinforce safer choices among their peers and within their communities. When students drive the message, behavior change becomes the norm.

BE THE CHANGE IN ACTION

What They Are Saying

Be The Change helped me realize that students have more influence than we think. When we lead by example and talk about safety in real ways, our peers actually listen.

Aaliyah T.
High School Junior

I learned how to turn concern into action. Instead of just talking about safety, we planned activities that got students involved and thinking differently about their choices.

Mateo R.
Student Leader

Be The Change showed me how student voices matter in the community, not just at school. Working with partners made our project feel real and meaningful.
